Kristin,

As usual, you have brought up another very important 'undercurrent' that, I think, runs through everyone's life--the unexpected or unplanned opportunities we get to commune with the Divine. I think all interactions between people (or between a person and some aspect of Nature) CAN be divine, if only we choose to allow them to be. Your head-scratching session with your kids and dog is a poignant example, to be sure. For me, I try to see ALL interactions as divine opportunities to bless others, bless ourselves, and fill the universe with goodness, gratitude, and giveness. To be honest, even when I'm stuck in traffic or when I have managed to find the SLOWEST check-out line at the store, I really focus on being grateful for a moment to catch my breath, to become aware of my surroundings, and to find SOMETHING that I can identify as a blessing for me and for others. So often, I am in "go-go-go" mode such that I deprive myself of "stop-stop-stop" time. Stopping (to smell the roses or anything else) is a divine thing, EVEN if it "usurps" time for which we had other plans.

And now for a really important question: Can you help me figure out how to clear out a closet so that it becomes serene enough for mediataion??? ;-)

As always, I love you and I love your website!
