Elizabeth, Thanks for your comment!
I agree that we get shut off from the whispers from the Universe when we are stressed and unmindful. As Everyday Mystics, we understand that we'll have those days and we don't scold ourselves - in fact, we need to be totally understanding and forgiving of ourselves. Because it's so much more fun to be open to receiving whispers from the universe than to be cut off, we kindly remind ourselves to open our hearts again to the Spirit. It is always available to us - God waits for us patiently and without judgement.

Remember, whenever I write, I teach myself as well as others. I struggle with this too.

Kristin! Great story1 Have you installed your navigation system yet? Perhaps you'll notice that you really DO get "directions" from it!

I want to comment about your insight about the Universe responding to our action (or inaction) that results in closing the open communication: I often find that, when things are going especially well for me, it is because I have been very cognizant of the 'whispers' and have taken action (or inaction, which is often the appropriate response) QUICKLY. I think the key is to act without hesitation and not let the idea 'simmer' very long. I sometimes have the tendency to try to "outthink" or analyze these suggestions. Unfortunately, I have done this all too often--stewing about or wondering about the idea 'til it's' dead.

Clearly, if you get the idea to call a long-lost friend, you may not want to do that right in the middle of a business presentation or a movie. So, certainly, the appropriate "take action" timeframe is relative, but you get the idea. However, I strongly feel that these 'whispers' are insights or guidance or suggestions from Spirit that pertain to you at THAT MOMENT, which means it is usually best to take heed in the same moment.

Conversely, I often find that when I have had a string of "yuk" days or a period of time in my life in which things haven't seemed to be "right", I can look back (it always seems to be clear in hindsight!) and realize that I was partially or totally shut off from these 'whispers from the universe' ...and I can see how my path would have been considerably easier/more pleasant/more productive if I had responded differently. Is that wisdom?

Love your website!

Loved how you captured questioning each voice "from God" while being open and to act on Divine whispers. Wonderful!
